Signs of the Times, pt. 1.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who replace darkness with light and light with darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter." - Isaiah 5:20

As I read those words, I don’t think of a time centuries ago, but of the present generation. We jokingly say, “That was really ‘bad’”, when we want to compliment something. We live in a time of relativism and anarchy. There is no such thing as “truth” or “right and wrong”, it is whatever you want it to be. Everyone makes up their own version of the truth and creates their own values system. And if it conflicts with yours, I have a right to kill you or condemn you. We have become our own judges and the judges of the world.

“He has shown you, o man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? TO ACT JUSTLY AND TO LOVE MERCY AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD!” (Micah 6:8)

Where is HONOR in the world today? We don’t have to honor our parents, honor the civil authorities, honor our elected officials, honor our teachers, honor our president, honor one another, or even honor God! One of the most DIShonorable and DISgusting things I have witnessed in the past several years is...

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who lives but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live, I life by faith in the one who loved me and who gave His life for me.”

For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness’, made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

God is no respecter of persons - Racism unmasked - Sept 7, 2020

"Peter said, 'Now I know for certain that God doesn't show favoritism with people but treats everyone on the same basis.  It makes no difference what race of people one belongs to.  IF they show deep reverence for God, and are committed to doing what's right, they are acceptable before Him.'      One of the areas of ministry we do in RTF is walking with someone through the hurts and traumas of their life. One key to this area of ministry is knowing that God is willing and able to meet them in their historical wounds to bring healing and freedom. Part of what makes this happen is knowing a significant attribute of God: that He can walk outside of time!   (cont...)

We've done ministry with many couples where the man believed he had the right to rule over his wife and that if she didn’t obey him, she was being rebellious. You can imagine the kinds of conflict they were experiencing....

The question we have to ask ourselves is, “Do my actions and attitude towards my spouse look like His?” Jesus always leads by INVITATION, Never by COMMAND!     (cont...)

Honor your father and mother, that you may live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” – Exodus 20:12

How many of us have asked God, “Why is there so much evil and pain in the world? Why does He allow so much suffering?"....

Is it possible that God created pain to serve a GOOD purpose?

Go and do likewise…” - Luke 10:38

This is a phrase we may have heard before, often referring to someone we may think of as self-centered or narcissistic or just very insecure! Someone who is ‘always right’ tends to irritate and put off people. We don’t usually take the time to find out why someone is acting this way, but to run away from them as quick as possible or work hard to prove them wrong! Yes, sometimes it is because of pride and arrogance, but what if there is a deeper underlying reason why they have such a strong need to be right?  (cont...)
